SPRAT - Twin Rope - Level 1

The Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (or SPRAT) is the peak rope access industry body in the United States. SPRAT has now gained a solid representation in Australia & in line with this, Height Safety Engineers (HSE) is proud to be offering SPRAT Level 1, 2 & 3 programs at our facility.

Duration: 5 Days (4 days of training and 1 day of assessment)

Student/Trainer Ratio: 8:1

Prerequisites & Entry Requirements

Current (Within 24 months) Nationally Accredited Work Safely at Heights certificate. If you do not hold this, you can do this one day course with us.

Who should attend?

This course has been designed for anyone wanting to enter the rope access industry. It is a safe method of working at height, where ropes and associated equipment are used to gain access to and egress from the work place.

Course Objectives and Content

  • Current WHS legislation, SPRAT codes of conduct and the international rope access standard ISO 22846
  • Understanding fall protection and work in suspension requirements
  • Rope Access PPE & associated equipment
  • Knots, hitches & bends and anchor rigging techniques
  • Rope mobility (ascending, descending, lateral movement, passing obstacles such as knots re-belays and deviations)
  • Using tools and equipment whilst in suspension
  • Mid rope self & partner rescues

Qualifications for Successful Participants

Certificate of Completion in:
SPRAT Level 1 Technician.

A Level I Technician may only work under the direct, on-site supervision of a Rope Access Lead Technician or Supervisor.

What do I bring?

All necessary equipment and learning materials will be provided. Light refreshments will be provided for training completed at our training facilities. Please wear comfortable clothing and enclosed footwear.
