SPRAT - Twin Rope - Level 2

This course has no current classes. Please the waiting list.

This course is available for current Level 1 Rope Access Technicians with experience to be able to undertake training and assessment to better their rope access skills and learn new advances techniques.

Duration: 5 Days (4 days of training and 1 day of assessment)

Student/Trainer Ratio: 8:1

Prerequisites & Entry Requirements

500 hours and 6 months of documented industrial rope access experience as a Level I Technician or equivalent.

Who should attend?

All Level Rope Access Technicians that have currency as a level 1 rope access operator who want to upgrade their rope access skills.

Course Objectives and Content

  • All level 1 techniques
  • Current WHS legislation, SPRAT codes of conduct and the international rope access standard ISO 22846
  • Understanding of work permits policies and SWMS or JSEA’s
  • Rigging forces and angles
  • Additional knots and hitches
  • Load Sharing anchors (Y-anchor)
  • Pull-thought anchors
  • Aid climbing
  • Ascent rescue
  • Rescue hauling with mechanical advantage (platform, pitch head and cross-hauling).

Qualifications for Successful Participants

Certificate of Completion in:
SPRAT Level 2 Rope Access Lead Technician.

An individual who is responsible for physically conducting rope access operations and/or safety evaluations of rope access operations, including maintenance of associated access equipment and performs all Rope Access Lead Technician duties as assigned in the employer’s rope access work program.
