SPRAT - Twin Rope - Level 3

This course is available for current Level 2 Rope Access Lead Technicians with experience to be able to undertake training and assessment to better their rope access skills and learn new advances techniques.

Duration: 5 Days (4 days of training and 1 day of assessment)

Student/Trainer Ratio: 8:1

Prerequisites & Entry Requirements

The candidate must provide proof of at least 500 hours of work experience as a Level II Technician or equivalent (1000 hours total).
The candidate may be asked to demonstrate proficiency in the skills and knowledge required of a Level II Technician.

Who should attend?

All Level 2 Rope Access Technicians that have currency as a level 2 rope access operator who want to upgrade their rope access skills.

Course Objectives and Content

  • All level 1 and 2 techniques
  • Current WHS legislation, SPRAT codes of conduct and the international rope access standard ISO 22846
  • Understanding of work permits policies and SWMS or JSEA’s
  • Rigging and system dynamics
  • Knots and hitches additional to those learnt in Level 1 and 2
  • Load releasing hitches
  • Anchors pre-rigged to lower
  • Mechanical advantage systems (such as tripods and beam clamps)
  • Team leadership and supervision
  • Pick-off rescue of a casualty whilst negotiating obstacles (deviation, rebelay or rope to rope transfer)
  • Rescue from Aid Traverse
  • Guidelines and highlines

Qualifications for Successful Participants

Certificate of Completion in:
SPRAT Level 3 Rope Access Supervisor
